Love in a mist

In the escape from sunkissed August

I met Persephone by the river under moonlight

In the crimson afterglow, she whispered silent serenades,

tales of sea maidens protecting lily pads over the rain,

and travelers lingering for romance in secrecy

She was enamored with ancient tales of the beast

I whirled for comfort in our forest while she reminisced

The Garden of Eden had wished the last sundown goodbye

Epiphanies struck when the damned were gone

Blue havens covered the Earth to rid humans of misfortune

While the high rise of jesters feared her power of renaissance,

Summer was trespassing the pinnacle of hope for warmer nights

Meanwhile, September was mine

and the 14th day marked a new age of sapphire ballads

The crisp season of harvest brought woodland creatures to play

I roamed through the kingdom of Autumn, with sweet alyssum seeds

Near the fountain of prophecy, she rendered an epistle

Forever will starlight be conjured for you

May echos of old bring hands of new

I lure my spirit to handle your care

Remember my name in the October air

I must reign under flickering embers, yet I will return

For Spring follows the Winter’s snowdrop Sauternes

Although the frost is lovely to kiss

The sun calls upon my love in a mist
